Lumineers

luminairesIt is said, that veneers and lumineers are the same thing. They are a special ceramic coverage for the tooth. This constructions are quite different from the dental crowns, as they are being comparatively less hewed than hard tissues, secondly, the latter cover only the frontal and in some cases the oral parts of the tooth. It should also be mentioned that the veneers and lumineers are put only on the frontal part of the tooth, and the chewing teeth are covered with crown of teeth.

Veneers and luminaires are mainly responsible for providing aesthetic appearance. Veneers and lumineers are considered micro-prosthesis and the doctor, by the help of the latter can change the color as well as the shape, size, appearance of the tooth.

Like other constructions the latter also have their indications and contradictions. They make it possible for the doctor to:luminaires

Close the tremmaners and diastemas (i.e. the distance between the teeth)
To revet the tooth in case there are only cracks on it
To change the color of the tooth or to remove the pigments if they are not of caries origin
To change the visual shape of the teeth

Veneers and luminaires are not made if the general condition of the mouth cavity is bad, and the hard tissues of the tooth are over spoilt. After all, let’s make it clear which is the difference between the veneers and luminaires. At first sight, the difference is very little, while very essential at the same time. The thickness of the veneers vacillates between the limits of 0.5 -0.7mm and the thickness of the luminaires does not exceed 0,3mm. Due to this kind of thickness of luminaires are being used there is no need to hew the tooth priorly and to make a temporarily protective layer/temporarily veneer/, the size of the tooth is measured on the spot after the teeth have been minutely cleaned and polished.
