Inflammation of gingiva

Gum bleeding Inflammation of gums may be expressed by gingivitis and periodontitis. The first sign of inflammation of gums is bleeding while cleaning teeth. The appearance of gums may also witness about the existence of inflammation. If normal gingiva should be light pink, if they are red and swollen it means the gums are inflamed.

The gum diseases usually start from inflammation of iterdental papillae. They have bright red color and they bleed while cleaning teeth.  If nothing is done to treat them then the inflammation would spread over all gingiva and bones. In case of not consulting with the dentist a necessity will arise to treat not gingivitis, but periodontitis.
According to the degree of inflammation the methods of treatment are chosen. Only the dentist can diagnose correctly the illness and its degree of severity with the help of special methods of observations, and based on them plan a productive treatment of that very case.

The treatment of gingiva diseases
Nearly each second patient that has turned to a dentist has problems with gums, particularly periodontitis. The diseases may have different degrees of expression-from gingivitis to parodontosis.  To some people the illness is expressed vividly and they turn to the doctor with already concrete problems, e.g. gum bleeding, teeth hypersensitivity, gingival recession, moving teeth, etc.  Many people do not pay attention to all this and even do not doubt about gingival diseases and their result.

Which are the reasons of gingival diseases?

Firstly, as simple it may sound, it is the wrong care of mouth cavity. People clean teeth wrongly and inadequately. As a result dental plaque and dental tartars are formed. Plaque and tartars affect negatively the nutrition of gums, and together with microbes they erode the tissue around tooth. This whole pathogenic process goes under gingiva eroding the bone and forming pathological dentogingival pockets.  As a result of this pathogenic process the totally healthy teeth began to move and drop.
All this is possible to prevent with the on time treatment of gums.

Second most important factor is the wrong biting as a result of which the neck and roots of the teeth are exposed by the time and teeth become hypersensitive.  Naturally this should be prevented on time as well.
To get more precise information about the general level of health of parodentium a panoramic image should be done called orthopantomography (OPG).
This gives the doctor opportunity to see the state of parodentium, especially the bones. Sometimes it is difficult to state visibly the degree of atrophy of the bone tissue, while the X-ray imaging gives the opportunity to make a more correct diagnosis and choose an appropriate method for that particular clinical case. The main task of the dentist is to prevent and treat the pathogenic process. Depending on the degree of severity professional oral hygiene, curettage or surgery is performed. The main purpose is to clean the whole inflamed tissue and prevent the later development of the disease. The level of health of the mouth cavity would be stabile if the patient is explained the correct rules of oral hygiene and, on his turn he his accordingly keeping them.
It is important to take into consideration another important factor: it is urgent to pay attention to the health level of gums before any oral interference; as far as it should be reliable and strong for anything placed in the mouth would serve long and would be convenient.

Gum bleedingReasons for gum bleeding

Gum bleeding is the main symptom witnessing gum inflammation.  Gum bleeding as a rule occurs during two pathologic cases-gingivitis and parodontosis.
Gingivitis is the first stage of gum inflammation. If nothing is performed to treat it, the illness develops and transforms into parodontosis, t. e. the periodontal tissue including the bone tissue is being inflamed.

Reasons for gum bleeding

The first and main reason for gum bleeding is insufficient oral hygiene, t. e. the formation of dental plaque and tartars.  The later are ideal environment for the development of microorganisms which are the reason of the formation pathologic inflammation.
Besides, gum bleeding may occur in the organism in case of hormonal changes, e.g. in case of pregnancy (gingivitis in pregnancy).
Gum bleeding may occur also during different blood illnesses, as well as in case of C vitamin deficiency, diabetes, etc.

Gum bleeding treatment

The treatment depends on the expression of the pathologic process. If it is connected with the hormonal changes, then firstly professional oral cleaning is performed. When the hormonal background is stabilized the mentioned problems disappear. But if the matter concerns to serious illnesses, then firstly the main illness should be paid attention to.
If gingivitis or parodontosis is observed, then the reason-factors should be eliminated, then dental plaque and tartars should be cleaned and, if necessary, make a periodontological treatment.
It is important to remember that, no matter what is the reason of gum bleeding, the oral hygiene should be carried out sufficiently so that the already existing situation would not worsen.
